DWIN SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) Touch screen Successfully Passes the Elevator Project Test

2024-09-27

A Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) touch panel operates by detecting changes in acoustic wave propagation across the cover glass surface to identify touch input. With excellent light transmission, rapid response, a long service life, and immunity to environmental influences like temperature and humidity, SAW touch panels are exceptionally well-suited for demanding applications requiring high reliability, including explosion-proof environments.

DWIN recently collaborated with a tech company in developing an elevator floor control panel based on SAW technology. This solution replaces the traditional mechanical buttons, offering more interactive touch experience and ensuring long-lasting durability.

The testing and validation of elevation floor control panel was conducted in a newly constructed building. The SAW touch panel was installed into the elevator, followed by a comprehensive function test. After confirming that the elevator works properly, the touch panel was tested by pressing buttons for different floors. The elevator could reach the intended floor, opening door and closing door accurately. During the descending test, after pressing button for different floors, the elevator started from the highest floor, stopped at the designated floor sequentially, closing and opening doors without error.

The elevator demonstrated stable and reliable performance throughout the testing process, with all control operations functioning as expected. This successful test has proven the broad application prospects of surface acoustic wave touch technology in elevators.
